GPS NTP Server

The item of time is very important in the industry. NTP server allows synchronization between two systems with an accuracy of one nanosecond and the systems can sync and communicate with each other with a time difference of one nanosecond.

Total Wisdom Company has provided the need to use native industrial NTP in various industries of the country by designing and producing GPS-based industrial NTP Server.

How does the NTP protocol work?
NTP server enables accurate time synchronization among all network equipment by taking the time signal from GPS or atomic clocks and distributing it in the network.

The equipment connected to the network (Client) and the NTP Server interact with each other in the following way and synchronize the time:

  • First, the Client sends a time request to the NTP Server and determines the time to do it (source start time)
  • The server confirms the time of receiving the request packet.
  • The server sends a response packet to the client again.
  • The time of receiving the response packet confirms the time of the destination Client.

This process takes nanoseconds, but Timestamp allows the client to calculate the round-trip delay and check the difference between its internal time and the time provided by the server and if necessary, set the clock again accurately.

What operating systems can connect to Cyrus NTP Server?
You can easily use NTP server for Mac, Windows, Unix, Linux and most other popular operating systems without any additional software. Also, most of the industrial equipments in which the element of time is decisive have the possibility of connecting to NTP Server.

In general, any device that meets the following three conditions can connect to Cyrus NTP Server:

  1. Have an internal clock.
  2. Can be connected to a network through an Ethernet connection.
  3. Support NTP / SNTP Client protocol.

In this way, a wide range of equipment including computers, telephones, clocks, CCTV systems, payment terminals, PLC, RTU and other industrial equipment and sensors can be connected to Cyrus NTP Server and synchronize the time.
